Tampa Bay Lightning’s Cedric Paquette Scores 19 seconds into Game 5

Cedri Paquette of the Tampa Bay Lightning scores 19 seconds into Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Finals against the Washington Capitals.

With the series between the Capitals and Lightning tied at 2-2, and the road team having won all four games, the team forward, Cedri Paquette wasted no time opening the scoring in this game.

Ryan Callahan leads the rush into the offensive zone for the Lightning, the play shifts to the right of goaltender Braden Holtby and then a cheeky pass is slipped across into the center of the ice to a streaking Paquette who takes the puck and slides it far-side underneath the pad of Holtby. A saved could have and should have been made, however, it wasn’t and all of a sudden the Capitals, who had lost the last two games find themselves down 1-0 seconds into the game on the road.

The early goal seemed to have set the tone for the Lightning as they went on to win the game by a score of 3-2. Tampa Bay now also lead the series 3-2 and will look to close out the Capitals in game six and earn a spot on the Stanley Cup Finals. A massive kudos goes out to the Lightning, who have been able to claw their way back into the series to take the leads after having been down 2-0 after the first two games.
