The fight was promoted by Oscar De La Hoya’s Golden Boy Promotions after Dana White refused to take on the fight. Both fighters were in great shape for their respective ages, but it was clear that time has caught up to both fighters. Ortiz did drop a hint about retirement during the post fight press conference.
