Tyson Fury sings “American Pie” at Post-Fight Presser
Tyson Fury started off discussing his fight against Deontay Wilder, then finished by singing a song for the media.
Tyson Fury (27-0-1, 19 KOs) kept himself in positive spirits after he fought to a draw against WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder (40-0-1, 39 KOs) at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. He wasn’t happy with the outcome of the fight, but accepted that he must go on.
“I could’ve won the fight, but I’m not gonna complain,” said Fury. “It was what it was. I come away, I’m on away soil; but what disappoints me was the British judge. I don’t know what fight he was watching. I think the British Boxing Board of Control need to have a word with him.”
Fury was referring to British judge Phil Edwards, who scored the fight at 113-113. It marked the difference in the result, as Mexican judge Alejandro Rochin scored it 115-111 for Wilder; while Canadian judge Robert Tapper had it at 114-110 in favor of Fury.
“Life continues, is what it is, ” said Fury, and began to sing. “Oh yeah life must go on, even after the draw is done!”
He then proceeded to sing “American Pie” by Don McLean, for a little over a minute. Fury really got into his singing, as he stood up with the microphone and urged everyone to sing along.
“We’re done! Thank you very much!” said an energetic Fury, as he smiled and took a bow. “Ladies and Gentlemen, good night! I love you all!”
