Dallas Stars crushed Nashville Predators to tie series at 2-2

After falling in game three for their second straight loss of the series, game 4 was a must-win for the Stars if they wanted to stay competitive in the series.

And win they did. The Stars blew past the Nashville Predators 5-1 to turn the series into a best of 3 heading back to Nashville and put the pressure back on Nashville.

“I thought all four lines did a great job,” Bishop said. “Coming back, you know, on the defensive side, backchecking hard and blocking shots, they do all the small things it takes to win.”

The game comes on the heels of a narrow, 3-2 loss in game 3 which gave Nashville the series advantage. Ben Bishop turned a game in which he recorded a .897 save percentage into a .971 save percentage in game 4.

“The guys did a great job in front of me and made it a little easier on me,” Bishop said. “I thought everybody, from top to bottom, played a great game and did all the small things it takes to win.”

The Stars put pressure on the Predators early in game 4 on the power play, a unit that had been silent from the third period of game 1, going 0-11 until game 4. The Stars scored four power-play goals en route to a dominant victory.

When asked whether this win will change the entire complexion of the series, Bishop said the team will just take the win for what it’s worth.

“It’s best of three, so get ready for game 5,” Bishop said. “We know they’re going to come out hard in their building.”

The Stars will look to find the success they had in game 1 of the series, a game in which they were able to defeat the Predators in Nashville 3-2, not an easy task, by scoring two goals in the third period.

Game 5 is scheduled for Saturday, April 20 at 2:00 p.m.
