Justin Verlander is Happy to Never Have to Pitch Again in Texas at Globe Life Park
Astros Ace Justin Verlander spoke to Fanatics View following series split vs. Texas Rangers.
Verlander spoke on his pitching style and limiting home-runs on the mound.
“I can’t change the way I pitch, I’m a flyball pitcher. If i start trying to be a sinker-ball pitcher, It doesn’t work. I know those guys hit a lot of homers, but my goal is to miss as many bats as i can – that’s what the game’s turned into.”
In addition, Verlander spoke on the Astros come-back after losing the first two of the 4-game set.
“That was a huge last two games”, he said. “The Rangers came out hot, and for us to be able to come out with a split, that’s what good ball-clubs do.”
Finally, Verlander was asked whether he would miss pitching at Globe-Life Park in Arlington.
“No – lost in the playoffs here, had some tough starts here, no”, he responded.
Scheduled to open in March of 2020, Globe Life Field looks to be a breath of fresh air for the hard throwing righty, putting his tough outings at Globe Life Park behind him.
