Jose Ramirez was impressed by Manny Pacquiao’s performance against Keith Thurman.

Jose Ramirez praises Manny Pacquiao’s ability to compete with the best at age 40. In a solid outing against Keith Thurman, Pacquiao showed he still has plenty left in the tank at his age.

Thurman took punches unlike any other fight of his career, and hit the canvas in the first round. But “One Time” displayed heart and determination as he put together punches of his own, and hung on to go the distance.

“Having that first round knockdown, and taking control of the fight; that was impressive for a guy his age,” Ramirez told Fanatics View. “That showed that he still has a lot of spirit, a lot of hunger, a lot of fire in the sport of boxing.”

The future Hall of Famer proved that he belongs among the top fighters at 147 as he dethroned the WBA (Super) welterweight champion of his title. Thurman had the intention of retiring Pacquiao, even stating that he’s in the past. At least for now, “The Pacman” doesn’t intend on hanging up the gloves anytime soon.

“It’s definitely impressive for a forty-year-old to be winning world championships in the welterweight division,” said Ramirez. “That we all know has a lot of great fighters.”
