Texas safety Brandon Jones on Playing for Tom Herman, “Horns Down” Gesture & NCAA Video Game Return
Texas senior safety Brandon Jones sat down to answer some questions with Fanatics View.
Jones was asked on the experience of playing for Longhorns head coach, Tom Herman.
“Coach Herman is a super great coach”, he responded. “He knows how to win, and all the guys and coaches he brought in was a huge eye opener for us. Like i said, the fact that he knows how to win is something we all learn to follow.”
In addition, Jones spoke on EA’s NCAA Football franchise, and his take on a new game in the future.
“I played that game all the time in college”, he said. “That game would be awesome to come back. I’d play it right now – rode to glory all day.”. Jones added what his rating would be for a NCAA game, “99”, he joked. “Nah I don’t know, hopefully in the 90’s. That’s all i play for man, don’t mess with that speed”.
Jones also commented on the ‘Horns Down’ gesture being used by more and more teams to mock the Longhorns. “If anything it’s motivation. I for sure use it for motivation, and I think the team does too. It’s just fuel to the fire, and at the end of the day people are going to do what they want to do. It is what it is, everyone’s entitled to their own opinion, and make their own gestures.”
