Paul George: “We’ve been waiting for this moment for a long time”

Paul George spoke with reporters about the progress of his shoulder rehab and how he was still healing during the quarantine.

“I had some insecurities to start the season off,” says George. “I had some insecurities throughout the season just because I wasn’t all the way 100. My shoulder didn’t feel back to 100.”

“The whole season, up until a month or two ago, I had to always do shoulder rehab stuff,” he continued. “Warming the shoulder up. So much went into stuff I had to do before I actually took a foot on the floor to where now, I feel great again. I feel great just going on the court and shooting, doing regular things. I’m really just confident and feeling back to myself again.”

Strong stuff from George, who was acquired for a record five first-round picks after undergoing surgery last summer. The Clippers were 44-20 when the season was suspended, and George says the time off gave them what they needed.

“This time off has given us what we needed. We had some guys that were banged up with nagging injuries. The more time gave us more time to aid those injuries and get back to 100. This team has been faring well with the limited amount of practice time we’ve been given already. So that doesn’t hurt us.”
