Lance Lynn reflects on reaching the milestone as a starter.

In the final game of a three-game series against the Angels, Lance Lynn earned his second win of the season; and the 100th of his career. Lifting the Rangers with a 7-3 victory over Los Angeles, Lynn improved to 2-0, with a 1.16 ERA on the year.

The right-hander received congratulations after the game from a fellow friend to reach the milestone.

“One of my favorite people of all time is Jake WestBrook,” said Lynn. “And I think it took him till like (age) 36 or 37 to get number 100. So I got a text out already, saying I got him by about four years. Just a little fun, makes it fun in the game. But I’ve been blessed to play in good teams, and good organizations. And I thank everybody for old hundred.”

Except for a two-run homer allowed to Tommy La Stella, Lynn had a solid night on the mound with six strikeouts. The victory gave Texas the sweep over the Angels, which Lynn hopes will continue to pick up momentum for the team.

After a 3-8 start to the early season, the Rangers currently sit two games below .500; as they improved to a 6-8 record.

“A sweep kind of writes out the bad start that we had,” said Lynn. “And now if we can figure out how to make sure we don’t lose series, and compete, and make sure we win series; that’s what it’s all about. And that’s how you figure out how to get yourself in the playoffs after this 60-game sprint here.”
