Giancarlo Stanton: New York Yankees “Aren’t Showing Up” Every Game & Talks Aaron Boone Facing Heat
Watch as Giancarlo Stanton expresses frustration in miserable first half for the Yanks.
With 5-3 loss to Angels on Monday, the Yankees have now fallen to 4th place in the AL East.
“We just haven’t showed up every night”, Stanton told media on Yanks struggles. “This uniform isn’t about sports, it’s about showing up every night. We just gotta pick it up”, he finished.
Stanton went on to voice his frustration on Yankees not showing what their team is capable of.
“We’ve shown plenty that we’re capable of doing it. At this point, it’s whatever, come back to the drawing board, do this do that, it doesn’t really matter. Anything that I say right now, we just gotta go do it. Words aren’t gonna do anything.”
“We’re the ones performing”, Stanton said on Aaron Boone blame. “You can’t put that on him. We’re the ones who come up and have the opportunity and spin that around. I don’t think it’s fair to put the blame on him”, he finished.
