Jrue Holiday Reacts to Team USA Losing to France & Talks Tokyo Flight With Devin Booker After Finals
Holiday: “We learn from today’s game and be more solid defensively”
Jrue Holiday is fresh off an NBA Finals victory and just under a week later, he leads Team USA with 18 points as they were ultimately upset by France 83-76.
“One is the officiating,” says Holiday when asked about the differences between international and NBA play.
“A little different. A lot of the calls that I feel like are made in the NBA aren’t made here.”
“It’s like a weird physicality, but you can’t be too physical,” he continued. “Somebody like Kevin was trying to do a good job of being physical and he got called for those. Even the flagrant fouls.”
“A lot is different,” says Holiday.
After beating Pheonix in the Finals, Holiday was on the same flight as teammate Khris Middleton and Suns guard Devin Booker and spoke on the experience of facing Booker for the title to now being teammates in the Olympics.
“He’s a great player. He’s easy to play with,” says Holiday of Booker. “A smart player. Knows how to play the game. I think being able to go out there with him today and kind of get a fit on the groove, it’s pretty easy.”
