Harper reacts to Phillies in 1st place: “It’s just so much fun going out there and playing games that matter”
You can say it has been somewhat of an underwhelming start to Bryce Harper’s career in Philadelphia. When you look at his stats, he has produced. But if you include the pandemic-shortened season, which the record books do, the Phillies have finished under .500 since Harper’s arrival and have not reached the postseason since 2011.
After beating the Mets in the opener of a three-game home series, Harper reacts to the Phillies now sitting in first place in the NL East.
“It’s just so much fun going out there and playing games that matter, playing games that make you emotional and make you super intense. But also knowing that you gotta flush tonight and go back tomorrow and play them again. That’s a tough Mets team. The Braves are right on our heels as well. We gotta keep playing our game, keep playing baseball, keep playing hard, and you know, do us.”
