Carlos Gomez Loses Cool on Water Cooler after a strikeout in the second inning.

Carlos Gomez is a fan favorite where ever he goes. From Minnesota to Milwaukee and now all the way down in Miami. Despite not playing for Miami in his career, after this meltdown, they may have a bobble-head in his honor. In contrast to how Gomez typically is on the field during games, last night has the potential to spark water cooler talk at work this week. Literally.

Early in his career, Carlos Gomez established himself as a household name with the Milwaukee Brewers. The two-time All-Star was traded to the Houston Astros in his prime for some highly touted prospects. Since that trade Gomez has struggled to capture his former self at the plate.

The season after the big trade, Gomez was all but booed out of Houston into the arms of the Texas Rangers. Texas is where he found some of his mojo but ended up not being resigned after his contract was over. Carlos ended up signing a one-year deal with the Tampa Bay Rays for four million dollars. To you, four million would be life-changing, but for the former All-Star, it is a bit of an insult.

With this in mind, Gomez could just be using this season to get back in a grove to sign a more significant deal with a better team. However, Gomez has really struggled this season, and it seemed to boil over after the strikeout.

After the controversial call that the pitch did not hit him, Gomez concluded the at-bat by chasing a ball outside the zone. Carlos seemed to contain his composure on his way to the dugout. Nevertheless, his emotions got the better of him… and that poor water cooler.
