Former MLB player Darryl Hamilton found killed in murder-suicide
Darryl Hamilton, who spent his final seasons in baseball patrolling the outfield for the New York Mets, was killed Sunday in a Houston-area murder-suicide, according to police. He was 50 years old. Hamilton was found dead inside a Pearland, Texas, home along with Monica Jordan. According to Houston’s FOX 26, Hamilton was shot multiple times before Jordan killed herself. The Houston Chronicle reported that Hamilton’s body was found near the home’s front entryway, while Jordan’s body was found in another part of the home. Police said Hamilton and Jordan were the parents of a 14-month-old child who was also inside the home when officers arrived. The child was left unharmed. Hamilton played for five teams in his 13-year career. He had been working as an analyst for the MLB Network since 2013.
