Troy Tulowitzki grand slam helps Blue Jays beat Reds 17-2
The Blue Jays’ bats exploded for 23 hits and three home runs in a blowout against the Cincinnati Reds. After failing to sweep the Texas Rangers on Sunday, the Jays bounced back in a big way and managed to get their sixth win in seven games. Toronto currently sports a record of 24-27 and sits fifth in the AL East. Despite their struggles at the beginning of the season, the blue birds are only 3.5 games out of a wild card spot.
For the Jays, home run hitters include: Russell Martin (4), Troy Tulowitzki (2) and Justin Smoak (12). Marcus Stroman went six innings, giving up just two runs to improve to 6-2 on the year. Lisalverto Bonilla started on the mound for Cincinnati, but gave up 6 runs in just 2 1/3 innings. He drops to 0-3 for the year.
