Texas Rangers Introduce Corey Seager, Explains Decision to Sign With Texas | Full Press Conference
Corey Seager spoke with the media after signing a massive 10 year, $325 million contract. He talked about why he chose to sign with the Rangers and where the franchise will go from here.
The Rangers have experienced some losing years after being a dominant force in the 2010’s. They took a major step in building a winning team by inking Corey Seager to a decade long deal. The former Dodgers’ short stop is ready to be the focal point of his team. He credited LA for allowing him to grow up fast. They did a lot of winning during his time there, and he looks to continue his winning ways in the lone star state.
“Blown away” was what Corey said to describe the pitch from the Rangers. He loved how honest and straight forward they were. The Rangers acquisition of free agent Marcus Semien helped persuade Seager to join him. He described Semien as an “elite person”. These two will form a potent duo up the middle of the infield.
Going forward, Seager plans on bringing the Rangers back to relevance. He is comfortable being here for such a long time because he is confident in the people of the organization. He said: “Culture is built by people.” Seager wants to accomplish great things with the people that put their trust and money into him.
Meanwhile, the MLB is in the midst of a lockout. This will put his plans with Texas on pause momentarily. However, Seager has years to accomplish what he has set out to do.
