Jordan-LeBron Debate Revisited on ESPN First Take
ESPN personalities Will Cain and Stephen A. Smith continue the dialogue between the polarizing Jordan-LeBron dynamic.
After Cleveland Cavaliers forward LeBron James extended his hard-fought streak of final appearances from seven to eight and the Golden State Warriors pushed their streak from three to four straight final appearances, the question presented itself again. If James defeats the most accomplished regular season team in the National Basketball Association (NBA) history, is this the feat that finally puts King James over the universally regarded best player of all-time, Hall of Famer Michael Jordan?
Cain said that this is not enough to dethrone Jordan, but would make for a more compelling case in the debate. Cain added that this is the most powerful piece evidence to present in the Jordan-LeBron debate.
Smith added to the debate by saying that we have to factor in the era and the rules that have changed over time, which makes it more difficult to compare these two once-in-a-generation players. This debate will keep everyone talking as long as James keeps collecting accolades.
