Jones to Charlotte fans: “I’m gonna bring versatility, all-around plays from inside and out, and energy all of the time”

University of Texas center Kai Jones is headed to the Charlotte Hornets. After being the 19th overall pick in the 2021 NBA draft, Jones begins his career with rising superstar LaMelo Ball and admits that he is pretty excited to do so.

“Playing with LaMelo Ball is going to be super dope,” says Jones. “He can really pass the ball. He’s a good point guard. He could score. He can pass. Seems like a good guy to be around.”

As for who Jones is looking forward to going up against, he didn’t hesitate to throw big names out there.

“I’m most excited to play against, I say, Kevin Durant. Seeing that he went to UT. He’s a forward. could really score. I’d like to see what my defense looks like against him.”
