Kevin Durant spoke to reporters following his Brooklyn Nets’ 13 point victory over the Toronto Raptors. He showed admiration for the Raptors, shared the keys to their victory, and previewed their next opponent.

KD didn’t worry about his Achilles tendon tear when he played in Toronto for the first time since the injury occurred. Instead, he contemplated how Nick Nurse would guard him. When asked about playing here, KD said: “I love Toronto, the fans have been amazing to me.” KD had high praise for Raptors’ rookie Scottie Barnes and pointed out his basketball IQ was rare for his young age. However, the young Raptors were no match for the veteran led Nets.

Durant viewed the third quarter as the turning point in the game. They cut down on turnovers, played solid defense, and got good shots. He spoke highly of James Harden’s performance. He thought Harden was in the zone and controlled the game well for them. KD knows they need this version of Harden to continue to show up. Blake Griffin received a shout out from Durant also. He was applauded for his confidence and ability to do the “dirty work” for the team. All the pieces fit in the puzzle for the Nets on this night.

In his closing remarks, KD talked about their next opponent. The Nets will play the second half of a back to back in Chicago. He views the Bulls as a tough opponent because they have three elite scorers. That scoring comes from three levels and KD views that as extremely hard to stop. He also recognized Lonzo Ball’s ability to pass the ball and run that offense. KD won’t have to wait long to experience it for himself.
