Luke Walton on Luka Doncic, Luka’s Step Back, Rajon Rondo & Dirk Nowitzki’s Legacy
Luke Walton gives his thoughts on Lakers struggles and Luka Doncic.
In Luke Walton, the Los Angeles Lakers head coach, first year with superstar Lebron James, there has not been as much success as Laker fans have hoped for. The Lakers are currently three games over .500 and two of their main ball handlers are out, James and point guard Rajon Rondo.
Walton is trying to work with his depleted roster, but it is hard to adjust to when major offensive players are out. He said they have had to restart the offense in a sense, but it has also allowed them to focus on where they lack with a full roster.
The Lakers latest win has been encouraging, especially playing against a difficult player in Dallas Maverick Luka Doncic. Even though rookie Doncic is only a teenager, he has caused many head aches for head coaches. Because of the Lakers length, Walton’s team has been able to give the sensational rookie a rough time finding the bottom of the basket. Walton hopes the trend reoccurs with their next opponent.
