DeMar DeRozan’s 42 Points Help Raptors Clinch Playoff Spot in OT Win

The Toronto Raptors and DeMar DeRozan fought off the Detroit Pistons in a thrilling overtime victory 121-119 Wednesday night.

DeMar DeRozan was putting on a show as he led the team with 42 points, six assists, and four rebounds. Raptors guard Kyle Lowry added 15 points, 15 assists, and seven rebounds in the overtime victory. Norman Powell had 17 points and four boards.

Pistons forward Blake Griffin had 31 points, four assists, and two steals in the losing effort. Andre Drummond scored 10 points, 21 rebounds, and two blocks.

Each time the Pistons scored to get close, DeRozan answered. From highlight dunks to his playmaking, DeMar was proving doubters wrong about the new look Raptors this season.

With the win, Toronto is the first team in the NBA to clinch a playoff spot.

Detroit has lost four straight and have now slipped to the ninth spot in the Eastern Conference.
