Monday saw the NBA offseason’s most peculiar controversy as Golden State Warriors forward Kevin Durant came to his own defense on twitter in the third person.

After calling out former head coach Billy Donovan and a lackluster Thunder roster in a series of late night tweets, Durant quickly deleted his inflammatory remarks from his account.

Durant says he’s regretted the strange social media fiasco since it transpired.

“I haven’t slept in two days, two nights,” Kevin Durant said. “I haven’t ate.”

Despite claims he slipped up while attempting to use a fake account, Durant persisted that wasn’t the case.

“I was just on there talking,” he said. “It kind of looked that way, it did kind of look that way.”

KD may have apologized for his “childish” tweets, but simply saying sorry may not be enough to save him from the growing criticism that was placed on him after he departed OKC for Golden State last offseason.
