Dwyane Wade set to join Cavs
According to a report by ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Dwyane Wade is set to join the Cleveland Cavaliers.
The deal isn’t technically official since he doesn’t clear waivers until Wednesday, but the deal appears to be as good as done. As soon as the deadline is passes, Wade is expected to join the Cavs on a rumored 1-year 2.3 million dollar contract.
Wade and the Chicago Bulls had a less than harmonious hometown reunion last year going 41-41 and missing the playoffs in his only season in the windy city.
He underachieved, spending a quarter of the season injured while failing to garner an Allstar appearance for the first time since his rookie season in 2003-2004.
Signs are pointing towards an inevitable decline for the former Allstar and perennial MVP candidate, but there’s no reason to think he won’t have a pleasant rebound year in Cleveland.
This go around, Dwyane Wade will be reunited with his best friend and former teammate LeBron James. The King, along with a plethora of talent should give Wade the best chance to win a championship since his days with the Big Three down in South Beach.
