When teams hear the Chicago Bulls are coming to town, they lick their lips at the thought of buckets in store. The Oklahoma City Thunder welcomed the Bulls to Chesapeake Energy Arena on Wednesday, and while they picked up the W 92-79, their numbers were anything but impressive.

OKC led the way from the first tip to the final horn, but the game was nothing to write home about. Aside from sending their crowd home with a victory, the only redeeming stat was their ability to hold the Bulls shooters to 34 percent, just a hair under their own measly 36 percent shooting.

It was a sloppy game and both teams had trouble taking the lid off of the basket. However, reigning MVP, Russell Westbrook, gave fans something to get out of their seats for after picking off a careless pass for a jam on the other end.

After being called for a foul during a steal on what may or may not have been some light holding on the other end, the ensuing sequence gave Westbrook a chance to carry out his vengeance. Following a steal and a sorry attempt at an intentional foul by Kris Dunn, Russ rose up through the contact and stuffed home an vehement dunk that left us wondering what that poor rim ever did to him.

The Brodie led all scorers with 21 points and tacked on seven rebounds and four steals to pad his stats. It certainly wasn’t his best performance, but I’m sure he’ll take the win before a stat line any day.

Despite a slow start to their season, the Thunder have clawed their way back to an even 7-7 record. The Thunder will travel to San Antonio Friday to square off against the Spurs.

Picking up wins at the AT&T Center has been a historically difficult task to accomplish and the Spurs are 177-36 at home since the 2012-2013 season. OKC will be hard pressed to leave The Alamo City with a victory, but with Kawhi Leonard sidelined by injury, this may be their best chance.
