Nikola Jokic “Feels Bad” for Shoving Markieff Morris & Explains Adrenaline Reaction After Being Hit
Nikola Jokic spoke to the media after his Nuggets’ convincing victory over the Miami Heat. The game itself was not a major point of discussion. Jokic shared his thoughts on his confrontation with Markieff Morris.
Late in the 4th quarter, Nikola Jokic took a hard foul from Heat forward Markieff Morris. Jokic then proceeded to shove Morris to the ground. Players were separated, and Jokic was ejected. The Nuggets, but no one was talking about that after the game. Instead, all of NBA Twitter was talking about the shove.
“It’s a stupid play, I feel bad,” says Jokic about the indecent. He believed Morris made a dirty play by fouling hard on a take foul. The reigning MVP felt as though he needed to protect himself. He chalked it up to emotions of the moment. His primary concern was that he let his team down by getting ejected. Not being able to help his team win at the end is unacceptable for the Joker. The already short-handed Nuggets need their leader every step of the way.
Jokic thought Morris took it a level above aggressive into dirty. But, he felt remorse for Morris when he saw his head snap back on video. Jokic may face further punishment for his shove. But for now, the Nuggets just improve one game in the win column.
