Ty Lue Went of on NBA Refs after Game 1 of NBA Finals
Cavaliers head coach Ty Lue says refs reversing calls “ain’t right.”
Ty Lue first talks about the pivotal last five seconds of regulation where Cavaliers guard J.R. Smith essentially dribbled out the clock after he grabbed the rebound on his teammates’ free-throw miss. According to Lue, Smith thought that the Cavaliers were up one point when they were really tied 107-107. However, Smith said he knew they were tied.
Lue also explains his frustration on the reversed call on Golden State foward Kevin Durant’s charge. With 38 seconds left in the fourth quarter, the reigning finals MVP drove past Cavaliers forward Jeff Green and ran into Cavaliers forward LeBron James. The refs called a charge, but after review, they changed it to a blocking foul.
Lue later said it was the first time he had ever seen a call reversed in a game of such magnitude.
