Tyrese Haliburton Previews Kings Season, Talks Sacramento Playoff Chances & Fit With De’Aaron Fox
Haliburton on Fox: “We’ve gotten closer throughout the off-season…Our relationship is growing”
Sacramento Kings guard Tyrese Haliburton put together a solid rookie season. Averaging 13 points per game and being a top 3 finalist for Rookie of the Year, Haliburton looks to build off his hot start and help the Kings make a playoff push.
“I want to be a winning basketball player. I think everybody agrees with that. They want to win as well,” says Haliburton. The Kings have missed the playoffs in 15 straight seasons, and missing out this year would make them owners of the longest playoff drought in NBA history.
“We want to allow our fans to make the playoffs. We want to bring the Kings back to the playoffs. It’s obviously the biggest goal. I don’t think anybody wants that more than us.”
Haliburton was drafted out of Iowa State to be paired with incumbent starting PG De’Aaron Fox and form a dynamic duo. Haliburton spoke about their growing chemistry leading into the season.
“He looks stronger. I’m looking forward to getting into camp and being able to do more stuff with him and keep building our relationship. We’ve gotten closer throughout the off-season.”
