Dallas Stars advance to Western Conference Semifinals with Game 6 win over Nashville
Dallas Stars defeated the Nashville Predators in overtime to advance to the second round.
For the first time since 2008, Dallas Stars fans were able to witness their team advance to the second round on home ice.
This marks Dallas’ second trip to the second round since the 2015-16 season.
American Airlines Center was rocking after John Klingberg buried the overtime winner past Pekka Rinne in the top, right corner of the goal.
The goal was produced courtesy of the Jamie Benn-Tyler Segiun-Alexander Radulov line as Benn was able to knock the puck free to Seguin who passed the puck to Radulov who recorded the primary assist on the goal.
Overall, the line produced seven goals and 11 assists in the six-game series.
Ben Bishop’s clutch performance in the goal crease was a major boost for the Stars and the main reason why the game went into overtime in the first place. He allowed one goal on 48 shot attempts Monday night.
The Stars will advance to face the St. Louis Blues who have rocketed from sitting at the bottom of the standings at the beginning of the calendar year to one of the top teams in the western conference.
