Oklahoma Linebacker on Progress Since CFP Loss
Oklahoma Sooner linebacker Kenneth Murray speaks on his progress since Sooners recent loss.
Kenneth Murray described the progress he has made since the College Football Playoff loss to the Georgia Bulldogs as “night and day.”
Murray has credited a significant chunk of his improvement to studying film, specifically studying “eight to ten” linebackers during the off season.
“But the main one I studied was Luke [Kuechly, Carolina Panthers],” Murray said. “If you look at his consistent game over the year, he’s a 10-tackle guy every week. That’s really my goal for the season is obviously I have bigger achievements, bigger stuff that I want. I want to be that leader for one, but I want to be that 10-tackle guy every week.”
With Murray watching so much film, he never left the facilities “till 10:30 [p.m.] 11’o clock.” The sophomore linebacker wants to be the leader of the Sooners’ defense; well, he has shown he is ready for the responsibility. According to the Norman Transcript, Murray “claims full ownership of the defense” and has watched the 2017-2018 Rose Bowl loss more than 100 times already.
This is a lot for a sophomore to shoulder, but the linebacker says he is ready for the responsibility. A leader must lead with his or her actions, and Murray has shown he is ready to put in the work.
