Lennox Lewis says Anthony Joshua needs to be ‘fixed mentally’
Lenox Lewis thinks Anthony Joshua can be on the verge of another loss against Andy Ruiz.
Lenox Lewis has a different view of the location for a rematch between Anthony Joshua and Andy Ruiz. With the debate between Joshua’s home in the U.K., or in New York, Lewis likes the idea of Mexico.
After Ruiz became the first heavyweight champion of Mexican descent in history, “The Lion” believes that the fans back in Mexico deserve the fight.
“To see Andy Ruiz did it in such a fine fashion, why not?” said Lewis. “Give the fans in Mexico a chance to see the fight. (Those) That didn’t get a chance to see it. Why not?”
A rematch in the U.K. would give Joshua a chance to avenge the loss, and win back his belts among the crowd that he became popular with. New York was the setting where things went wrong, as Joshua had his U.S. debut spoiled by an upset TKO loss to Ruiz.
Joshua went down four times against Ruiz, and looked like a different fighter from the one he was back in the U.K. Lewis thinks that Joshua needs to come into the rematch with a different mindset; or another sense of doom can be on it’s way.
“If they don’t fix what’s wrong with Anthony Joshua, Andy Ruiz wins that fight hands down,” said Lewis. “It must be mental, because he didn’t look the same coming into the ring like he usually looks. There was something definitely there, hopefully it’ll come out in the future. I think Anthony Joshua made it easy for Andy Ruiz, because he wasn’t fully there.”
