Ryan Garcia gets shoved by Braulio Rodriguez during a face off
Braulio Rodriguez brought the heat to Ryan Garcia during their face off, and gave the fans a pre-fight hype.
Ryan Garcia (16-0, 13KOs) is set to square off against Braulio Rodriguez (19-4, 17KOs) on the undercard of Canelo vs. Rocky at the Madison Square Garden in New York. As they held a face off at the weigh in, Rodriguez made remarks at Garcia; while Garcia just listened and gestured his head.
Rodriguez turned up the heat and shoved Garcia, causing him to bump his back against a Tecate Beer model. Rodriguez then gestured his hand across his throat at Garcia as they had to be held back from one another.
“I think he’s just trying to intimidate me cause he probably thinks I’m just a small kid,” said Garcia. “But we have to show him in the ring, that’s when it matters.”
Garcia is still very young in his professional career, at only 20 years old. He was also ESPN’s 2017 prospect of the year, a year in which he went 6-0; all victories coming by way of knockout.
