Clemson’s Kendall Joseph talks about his biggest game of the season
While Clemson completed their most dominant win of the season against Louisville, 77-16, Tigers’ linebacker Kendall Joseph talks about how the defense came to play. Joseph’s 10 total tackles were a team-high.
Clemson’s leading tackler of the season, Kendall Joseph, added another 10 total tackles in the Tigers’ 77-16 win over Louisville, on Saturday. Joseph’s big day upped his season total to 51 tackles – the first Clemson player to reach 50 or more. Joseph also made his presence felt in the backfield, as he accumulated 1.5 sacks against the Cardinals – another game-high.
In what could have been Joseph’s best game of the season, arguably, he doesn’t want to celebrate too much. He’ll hit the practice field and film room even harder to keep improving his game.
“I had some bigger plays than usual maybe, but I have to see what my grade is. I look at defense as making plays, playing clean, and executing. As far as TFL’s (tackles for losses), I did have one of my biggest games. But I have to make sure I did the little things right,” Joseph said.
Overall, the Clemson defense held a Louisville offense that is averaging over 21 points per game to only 16 points, and they held them to under 100 rushing yards.
“It’s our standard, no matter who we play. We respected Louisville’s offense. They had us on the ropes at certain times. They had really good schemes, but I feel that we finally settled down and played really hard, competed, and had fun out there,” Joseph said.
Next week, No. 2 Clemson will have their hands full as they’re set to face a 7-2 Boston College team on the road. This game will have a lot to do with how the ACC turns out at the end of the season, as both teams sit atop the conference.
