The Mizzou Tigers, a team that has stayed under the radar the past few years, may surprise everyone this season.

Drew Lock is one of the nation’s top quarterbacks, and a top NFL draft prospect. A third generation Mizzou Tiger is looking to turn the program around this season. With the help from new offensive coordinator Derek Dooley, the Tiger offense has already improved greatly from spring workouts and is excited to show the nation what they can do.

Coach Dooley has served as wide receiver coach for the Dallas Cowboys for the past eight years. Dooley was very successful in his position there and is excited to share all his knowledge and experience from the NFL with these college players.

Lock is very thankful for the opportunity to learn from Coach Dooley. He explains how much Coach Dooley has already done for the program and can’t wait to keep learning from him. Lock shares how Coach Dooley came in running and is helping this team reach their full potential. He believes the Tigers will be more successful this year thanks to him.

Even though Mizzou hasn’t been in contention for some of the top spots in the SEC, they still have had success. Lock explains how no one gives this team credit though. He mentions how the media makes it seem as the only time the Tigers do well is because another team did bad and not because the Tigers could actually be good. This made some people reevaluate how they see the Mizzou Tigers. Last season, Lock threw for 44 TD’s, a SEC and NCAA record. That is hard to do playing against some of the nation’s top teams and wasn’t earned because of luck. This year, Lock was already voted by the media as first team all-SEC. All eyes will be on him this season to see if he can keep this up and prove the Mizzou Tigers have what it takes.
