Watch Clemson running back Travis Etienne talk about what led to Clemson’s dominating offensive performance against Louisville. In Clemson’s 77-16 win over Louisville, the Tigers scored 11 touchdowns in their highest scoring game of the season.

In Clemson’s highest-scoring game of the season in their 77-16 win over Louisville, halfback Travis Etienne rushed for a team-high 153 yards on just eight carries (19.1 average). He also scored one of Clemson’s 11 touchdowns on the day. Etienne was one of three rushers to pick up 100 or more yards on the ground for Clemson. The others were Lyn-J Dixon (116 yards) and Tavien Feaster (101). In total, Clemson rushed for a season-high 492 yards, compared to only 81 rushing yards from the Cardinals.

It was Etienne’s fifth game of the season in which he picked up 100 or more rushing yards. Even better news for Clemson, it seems that they’re running game is headed in the right direction again. Previous to the Louisville game, Etienne had two games in a row where he didn’t pick up more than 45 rushing yards versus NC State and FSU.

“We wanted to get our running game back on track. The line was blocking well. The receivers were blocking well down the field. And the backs were hitting the holes,” Etienne said. ” The holes were really big. It’s just a testament to our offensive line doing their job. I’m grateful for them.”

Etienne (998 rushing yards) will look to get to 1,000 rushing yards on the season against a tough 7-2 Boston College team on the road this Saturday. It would be the sophomore’s first 1,000-yarder of his young career. Last season, as a freshman, Etienne scored two touchdowns on 113 rushing yards against the Eagles.
