Jamie Benn on Stars vs. Blues Scuffle: “Just a Bunch of Grown Men Being Donkeys”
The Dallas Stars defeated the St. Louis Blues 4-2 on Wednesday night, but the game four result wasn’t the main talking point after the Stars’ win.
Penalty controversies and after whistle altercations were the things that will be remembered following this series tying game four.
“Just a bunch of grown men being donkeys out there,” Jamie Benn said. “We should probably stay playing hard between the whistles, but stuff like that happens, it’s the playoffs.”
The altercations began when St. Louis ‘ David Perron slashed the Stars goalie, Ben Bishop, in the back.
St. Louis’ rookie goalie, Jordan Binnington got in on the action as well. Binnington charged at Benn while the Stars were up 4-1, and the goalkeeper hit Bishop’s stick on the way off the ice following the end of the second period.
The end result was favorable for the Stars in this chippy game four win as they go back to St. Louis for game five with the series tied 2-2.
