After losing their first playoff game in team history, the Vegas Golden Knights bounced back with a 4-3 win in Game 3 over the San Jose Sharks.

Following a scoreless first period, special teams quickly became the focus of the game as the first three goals were all scored on the man advantage. The Sharks got things going on the powerplay 6:59 into the second frame on a beautiful one-timer by Timo Meier. The Golden Knights wasted no time in coming up with a response. Colin Miller scored at the 9:40 mark which was then followed up by Jonathan Marchessault just a few minutes later. Reilly Smith added to San Jose’s misery less than two minutes after, as he scored his first goal of the playoffs.

Despite facing a two-goal deficit, San Jose did not go down without a fight. Evander Kane continued to shine for his new team as he registered his fourth goal of the playoffs 7:59 into the third period. Tomas Hertl then tied it all up with less than two minutes to play – forcing overtime for the second straight contest.

After trading some quality chances, Vegas’ William Karlsson ended the game 8:17 into extra time ultimately silencing the San Jose faithful.

Game 4 takes place Wednesday, May 2 at 10 PM EST.

Side Notes: Evander Kane has registered 19 points (13 goals and 6 assists) in 23 games (regular season and playoffs) since coming over from Buffalo prior to the trade deadline. Kane entered the league during the 2009-10 season and is just getting his first taste of the playoffs this year.
