Sebastian Giovinco Unbelievable Free Kick Goal
In Leg 2 of their CONCACAF Champions League Match against Tigres UANL, Toronto FC’s Sebastian Giovinco buried his second free kick attempt of the evening in truly incredible fashion.
With the game tied a one a piece in the 73rd minute, Sebastian Giovinco was awarded his second free kick of the evening just outside of the 18-yard box. Having missed his first attempt, Giovinco stepped up to the challenge struck a beautiful curling shot into the very top-left corner of the net to break the deadlock. The shot nearly handcuffed the Tigres keeper, who was briefly able to get his hands to the ball, but did not succeed in keeping it out of his net.
The game would finish with a score of 3-2 for the Mexican hosts, Tigres, which placed the aggregate at 4-4. However, Toronto FC was still able to advance on the away goals rule. They will play yet another Mexican side, Club America, in the CONCACAF Champions League Semi-Final. The first leg of the series will start in early April.
