This historic milestone puts Ovechkin 20th overall on the NHL’s all time goal scoring list. It has taken 928 career game to reach the 600 goal mark and he is one of two other active NHL players in the Top 20 with over 600 career goals. Only Jerome Iginla (625 Goals) and Jaromir Jagr (765 Goals) are ahead of him. Ovechkin is still over two hundred goals away from eclipsing the all-time record of 894 career goals, which is currently held by non-other than The Great One, Wayne Gretzky.
Ovechkin is having a yet another terrific season. With 74 points to his name, it would not be a surprise if he surpasses the 100 point mark and adds 50+ goals to his name. No doubt in anyone’s mind that Ovechkin deserves to have accomplished this feat.
