The Mean Green basketball team came away victorious in their first ever appearance in the College Basketball Invitational Tournament. North Texas downed the San Diego Dons in 3 games and finished off the series with a convincing triumph on their home floor.
Roosevelt Smart led the the charge for North Texas in the final game as he scored 25 points on 3-6 shooting from downtown and a perfect 14-14 from the charity stripe. The sharpshooting combo guard averaged an impressive 23.0 points per game over the Mean Green’s 6 postseason contests and was by far their best player.
