Lakers rookie Andre Ingram receives game ball after dazzling debut
After more than a decade spent riding busses to and from games in the development league, swingman Andre Ingram was called up Monday to play with the Los Angeles Lakers for their final two games of the regular season.
Ingram holds the record for more the most three-pointers in D-League history, and he put his shooting chops on full display in his NBA debut. The 32-year-old rookie shot 4-5 from beyond the arc and finished with 19 points in 29 minutes of action off the bench.
While the combo guard stands only 6’3”, he used his textbook footwork and quick hands to make a timely steal and swat three shots. Ingram made his presence felt in his first professional stint, but it wasn’t quite enough as the Lakers dropped a close game 105-99 to the league leading Houston Rockets.
