L.A.F.C. Defender Laurent Ciman Scores First Home Goal in Team History
32 year old Belgian defender, Laurent Ciman netted the fist home goal for the Los Angeles Football Club at the brand new Banc of California Stadium. In their first year as an MLS franchise, LAFC are off to a fantastic start, especially when you considered they have played all of their games this season on the road, barring yesterday’s home opener against back to back MLS Cup Finalists, the Seattle Sounders. With the game deadlocked in a scoreless tie well past the 90th minute, LAFC were gifted a free kick just outside the penalty area, a perfect spot for an opportunity to ice this game. Captain on the evening, Laurent Ciman stepped up and hit home a beautiful goal to put the home team up and virtually end the game. The Belgian international, who made the switch to LAFC this season after spending the previous two seasons with the Montreal Impact, sent the crowd into a frenzy when the ball crossed the goal line.
