Kyrie Irving Says LeBron Is The MVP
Former Cleveland Cavaliers guard Kyrie Irving says the “NBA MVP” is Cavaliers forward LeBron James.
During an interview with Hot 97, Kyrie Irving said that LeBron James is the MVP of the NBA. He said the criteria for being the MVP has changed over time, calling one “the people’s MVP” and the other “the NBA’s MVP.”
MVP has always been given to the most valuable player, but today that has changed to what Irving calls the “people’s MVP.” The league was tired of giving the MVP to Micheal Jordan and they are tired of giving it to James, so they give it to some who is not named LeBron James. Another factor any NBA fan would recognize is that Houston Rockets guard James Harden has been playing at an MVP level for the last three years, but never had the hardware to validate it.
The Celtics guard said James is the “NBA MVP” because he beats the reigning MVP, Harden, in pretty much every statistical category.
LeBron finished 2nd in MVP voting for the third time in his career.

When total stats are looked at, it makes a very compelling argument for James to win instead of Harden, but when averages are looked at it makes for a more level playing field. Whether we like it or not, James is our 2018 regular season MVP.
