Kentucky has already shocked the nation several times this season. Not only did they beat Florida and break the 31 year losing streak, this weekend they also handily beat No. 14 Mississippi State.

No one thought Kentucky would be 4-0 this season, with lots of hope for the rest of the season. The Wildcats, led by arguably one of the best running backs in the SEC, Benny Snell Jr., could be making a statement this year.

Mississippi State got on the board first from a one yard run from quarterback Nick Fitzgerald. Fitzgerald is playing with high expectations for this season. Even some Heisman talk was ringing around him before the season started. This would be the only time the Bulldogs saw the scoreboard though. With a little over a minute left in the second quarter, Snell found the end zone on a short run to go into half time tied. Kentucky came out of half time excited and eager to win this game, and scored on their first drive of the second half to go up by seven. An interception thrown by Nick Fitzgerald with eight minutes left in the fourth quarter may have lost them the game. Kentucky now had the ball on the Mississippi State 36-yard line and all the momentum. Once again, Snell got the ball and ran 36 yards to the end zone to make the score 21-7.  The Bulldogs lost the ball on downs their next drive, so the Wildcats knew they had to capitalize on this momentum and put the game away for good. No surprise to anyone, Snell took over and ran the ball 23 yards for a touchdown to make the score 28-7.

Benny Snell ran all over Mississippi State with 165 rushing yards and four touchdowns. Snell has been underrated this season, but people will start to notice him more after this game. Kentucky will have another tight matchup this weekend against South Carolina.
