Deontay Wilder speaks on his adviser, Al Haymon, and why he appreciates him.

Deontay Wilder (40-0,39 KOs) will put his heavyweight title on the line when he faces former lineal heavyweight champion Tyson Fury (27-0,19 KOs) at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on Dec. 1st. Wilder also praises his adviser, Al Haymon, both on a professional and personal level.

“Al Haymon is a great man,” said Wilder. “He’s a lovely man, I don’t care what people say. You know, people always say things about him. It turns out they ain’t even know him, they ain’t never seen him. If you ain’t never seen a man or met a man, how can you judge him? And the first thing we wanna do is judge a man in a negative way?”

Not much is known about Haymon, as he’s rarely seen in public and doesn’t give interviews. He is, however, a powerful figure in boxing. His list of other notable clients in the sport include Floyd Mayweather Jr., Manny Pacquiao, Amir Khan, Adrien Broner, Terence Crawford, and Keith Thurman; among others. Wilder says that people don’t understand Haymon and that he can be “so many different things for you in your life.”

“He want them (his clients) to have the best of the best,” said Wilder. “He want them to obtain the best in their career. Whatever you wanna do, he’ll settle down and talk to you, make sure everything’s going good and what you want; you going (to) get. What you want, you will get; he’s a wonderful man. If you ain’t got a Al Haymon, you better go and get you one.”
