LeBron James on Doncic: “He’s a great young talent. I love his game”

Lebron James gave Luka Doncic credit where it was due after the Lakers’ victory over the Dallas Mavericks.

“Obviously he’s a great young talent. Love his game. His ability to not only, you know, create shots for himself, but you guys know I love the fact that he can get great looks for his teammates. That’s what I thrive on. That’s what I’ve always believed in.”

The Lakers defeated the Mavericks 119-110, but James sees something special in the Mavs and what will make it difficult for opposing teams to face them throughout the year.

“I think it starts with the head of the snake in Luka and you know, KP. The Powells and the Klebers and the Finney Smiths. The Seth Currys and all those guys they have around them is what complements them. It complements their game. They’re playing fast. They’re shooting a lot of threes. They push the tempo to keep you off balance. And you know a Rick Carlisle team is always going to be well-coached.”

James also chimed in on the late rapper Nipsey Hussle, who was a well-known figure inside of Staples Center, and how the Lakers will continue to carry the “Marathon” mindset that Hussle embodied.

“Cause every day, we always think about Nip. That’s what the marathon is all about. Ain’t nothing rushed, you know. It’s a marathon.”
