Jamal Murray wanted to set things straight for any doubt over the Nuggets.

Jamal Murray had a big night in the Nuggets 109-84 victory over the Clippers, scoring 40 points. After a 3-1 deficit, Denver rallied with three straight wins to take Game 7 of the Western Conference semifinals over Los Angeles 4-3. The victory advanced the Nuggets to the Western Conference Finals, with Game 1 set for Friday against the Lakers.

Overcoming the odds both on and off the court, Murray seized the moment by calling out Shaquille O’Neal and Charles Barkley; among other commentators who doubted them.

“All y’all better start giving this team some damn respect,” said Murray. “Cause we put in the work and we got a resilient team. We should’ve been down 3-1. But to come back from 3-1 against the Clippers, it’s a big achievement. Just want to change that narrative. Y’all can finally start changing that narrative, and look at us in a better light.”

“Blue Arrow” had the momentum going early and scored 25 points in the first half. He finished the game 15-of-26 in shooting from the field, and connected 6-of-13 in 3-pointers.

Despite being counted out in the playoffs and taking criticism, Murray is unfazed by the opposition and would rather keep silencing the skeptics. They’ll face a tough test in the No.1 Western Conference seed Lakers, but another chance at proving their cause for the NBA title.

“You know a lot of people talk about us, but we just improve the argument,” said Murray. “That’s all I gotta say. That’s how we feel.”
