Joey Gallo Reacts to Willie Calhoun’s Terrible Luck of Injuries & Baseball Not Just About “Numbers”
Watch as Joey Gallo speaks to media following 8-0 Rangers win and 2 homer game.
Gallo lead the 8-0 route against Kansas City, crushing two home runs to total 5 rbis for the night.
“I’ve been feeling good at the plate”, he said on 2 homers. “Today I got some results, got some pitches to hit, and didn’t miss them. At the end of the day, that’s the plan. It’s good to see that result working out there”, he finished.
In addition, Gallo commented on Willie Calhoun’s game-ending HBP in the 2nd.
“Just hoping for the best for him. Obviously we’re not sure how bad it is, or how long it’s gonna be. We obviously care about him a lot, and he’s had some bad luck and it’s tough to see. We’re praying for the best for Willie for sure.”
“This game shouldn’t be always based on numbers”, Gallo said on his improvements after mediocre 2019 and 2020 seasons.
“For me it’s just getting on base. It’s easy to do it for half a season, or one year, or your first year up. But to consistently do it after teams make changes to you, focus on you to get you out. That’s something I’m proud of and I wasn’t able to do in 2019…”
