Watch as Shohei Ohtani speaks to media after incredible first half to 2021 MLB season.

With 32 homers and a respectable 4-1 record on the mound, two-way prodigy Shohei Ohtani answered questions prior to 2021 all-star game.

Ohtani talked about his journey from Japan, to becoming the most exciting player in baseball.

“This is a pretty big milestone”, Ohtani said through his translator. “I want the team to win first, that’s the main priority for me. As long as I’m performing, and helping the team win, I felt like it should come naturally for me to be selected as an all-star. That happened, and I’m very happy about that.”

In addition, Ohtani spoke on possibility of taking the mound during the all-star game.

“I’ve never had a choice in my professional career to pick where I pitch or hit. I think as players we’re all just pieces of the puzzle, and it’s all up to the manager if he decides to use me. That’s all I can say for now.”

Ohtani also described one of his most majestic displays of power on pitch at his eyes.

“The one homerun that stands out is the one I hit, it was really up, I think it was 12 feet off the ground. It was a ball by far, and I’m not supposed to put a swing on it but my body just reacted. I somehow hit a home run with it, and that kind of surprised me.”
