Luke Voit Reacts to Rougned Odor “Time Out” Home Run & “So Proud” of Andrew Velazquez After Homer
Watch as Luke Voit reacts to Yankees’ dominant 7-1 win over Minnesota Twins.
Backed by Gerrit Cole’s six-inning shutout on the mound, the Yanks lineup flourished, scoring seven runs to beat the Twins. Following the win, Luke Voit spoke on starting for the Yankees after injury and earning his spot in the lineup.
“You know, whatever [Aaron] Boone wants me to do, I’m ready to play,” he said. “Obviously I feel really good. I made some adjustments earlier in the week, and the results are coming.”
Voit was asked his thoughts on Rougned Odor’s 7th inning homer being negated after the home-plate umpire called timeout.
“I saw the replay, he called time, so it’s super frustrating obviously. I don’t think I’ve ever seen that before.”
“I hope that never happens to me,” he added. “That’s like bad karma, it stinks.”
In addition, Voit reacted to Andrew Velazquez’s first major league homer coming in the eighth inning at Yankee stadium.
“I’m glad he got to do it here in front of his friends and family. I’m just so proud of that kid, just coming in a huge role to pick up for Gleyber [Torres] until he comes back. He’s been great defensively, and he’s been driving in runs left and right.”
