Rick Bowness Reacts to Dallas Stars Playing With “Swagger” vs. Philadelphia & Roope Hintz Play
The Dallas Stars defeated the Philadelphia Flyers 5-2 on Saturday night. Head coach Rick Bowness shared his thoughts on his team’s performance after the game.
Coach Bowness was happy to get the win in regulation after losing 6 of their previous 7 games. He was pleased with the team’s performance. The Stars “played with swagger,” according to the head coach. It was important for them to react positively after the Flyers scored goals.
The defense was a focal point of the Stars’ victory. Bowness thought all four lines gave a good effort in the win. The biggest negative for the team was penalties. These penalties affected the timing and flow of the game. As for the offensive outburst, Bowness felt like shots were just going in. He mentioned some unlucky crossbar hits throughout their losing streak. They did not change their approach much. Shots were just finding the back of the net.
The season is young. The Stars’ head coach knows they are capable of climbing out of the hole they dug for themselves. Picking up the win against the Flyers was the first step in the right direction.
